How does the human body react in extremely high altitudes? Two Swiss doctors want to find out and they launch the greatest expedition for high-altitude research ever. 64 test persons, doctors, mountain guides and a film team from Switzerland set off to the Muztagh Ata, a 7,546 m high mountain in West China. Up to an altitude of 6,800 m the team of doctors examine their test persons, their eyes, lungs, nerves and blood. The results of the researchers’ hard work reveal interesting new conclusions on the topic of high-altitude sickness.
