Countries exist, which in a mystic way have remained beyond global attention. They still preserve treasures which have been lost everywhere else. Endless wilderness, extended primeval forests, a fantastic biodiversity, mythical animals and proud and mysterious people. One of those lands is Laos. The Mekong is one of the last untamed rivers on earth. Fed by hundreds of tributaries, it is one of the richest freshwater systems on the planet. The fauna of the primeval forests seems to come from a fairy tale: tigers and leopards and millions of colourful butterflies as big as a hand and some of the rarest species of our planet live in this hardly accessible paradise.
