“Stikine – The Great River”

This dream tour starts with marvellous tour paddling in British Columbia across one of the most beautiful landscapes in Canada. The upper course of the Stikine can only be reached by hydroplane and it is the most lonely part of the river. Then follows the “Grand Canyon of the Stikine“, with its 90 km length it is one of the greatest challenges in wild water canoeing on earth. Shortly before Telegraph Creek, the only village along the Stikine, the gorge turns into the lower course which flows through the Coast Mountains to the Pacific ocean. This film links in an impressive way scenes of calm tour paddling and extreme wild water canoeing over a distance of 640 km which was covered for the first time in total.
