On January 27, 2010, the 27 year-old ice climber Rudi Hauser succeeded in lead climbing the three most powerful icefalls of Austria within 10 hours. Alpine risks such as falling ice, avalanches, extreme cold, and very demanding physical and psychical challenges for the athletes make ice climbing the ultimate discipline in mountain sports. From the ice arena, located at an altitude of 1.400m in the Gastein valley, many super routes within a very limited space, lead up to the Höhkar. A perfect place for a marathon achievement in ice-climbing. We accompany Rudi Hauser along more than 1.000m of steep ice falls on the routes „Supervisor”, „Mordor” and „Rodeo”.
