Rock crystals have fascinated mankind for centuries. We accompany three crystal seekers on their adventurous and risky treasure quest in the Alps. The Swiss Dosi Venzin has been wandering in the solitude of the mountains for 40 years, and he is one of the very few persons who earn their money solely by finding and selling minerals. The Austrian Ludwig “Lugg” Rasser is a legendary “stone-searcher” from the Rauris Valley. Together with his friend Hubert Fink he is looking for treasures on the more than 3000m high Hohen Sonnblick. The Swiss Franz von Arx has picked up the biggest rock crystals out of the rocks which were ever found in the Alps. He is finishing his preparations in order to present the sensational findings – each of them weighing 400 kilo – at Europe’s most important meeting for this sector, the “Mineral Days” in Munich.
