Thirty years ago, on the 18th of May 1980, the volcano Mount St. Helens erupted on the west coast of the USA. It was an eruption of unbelievable dimensions. Within a few minutes, the mountain lost 400 metres of its summit, and masses of debris and ashes devastated an area of 500 km². However, soon afterwards nature started to reconquer the destroyed land. A film team accompanied some scientists trying to unravel the mystery of the new settlement of life on the slopes of Mount St. Helens. The return of life is not only understandable, but you can even experience it firsthand!
