Good Bye Tibet

Maria Blumencron 90 min

Wednesday, 09. Nov. 2011 from 19:30 Schubert Saal 1

This is the story of an almost 6000m high pass on the border between Tibet and Nepal, which has been the gate to freedom for thousands of Tibetan refugees, however, which also sometimes meant death. The report of a mountaineer, ten years ago, led the film director Maria Blumencron to Tibet for the first time. She was fascinated by the question, why parents sent their little children into the exile on such dangerous ways. Together with the Tibetan escape agent Kelsang Jigme and with six ancient fugitive children, she climbs the Nangpa La pass.
