Deeply incised river valleys and desert-like rock plateaus, - Germany’s “Grand Canyon” is located in the „Saxon Switzerland“. Wind and water, heat and frost have created the unique landscape of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains throughout millions of years. Rare animals, such as the garden dormouse, the peregrine falcon and the black stork have adapted to their life on and between the sandstone rocks. Extraordinary animal behaviours, high definition slow motion pictures and breathtaking shots from the air show the Saxon Switzerland seen from a new perspective.
