The Basque Iker Pou is one of the strongest and most perfect climbers of the world. Beside others, he has repeated Güllich’s „Action directe“ (9a), he has flashed routes up to the degree 8c, and, together with his brother Eneko, he has free-climbed the hardest multi-pitch routes of the world. Now he has been the first to repeat the first ascent route by Chris Sharma, the “Demenica senile” (9a+) in Catalonia. Iker Pou is by far not as tall as Chris Sharma, therefore he has to stand a little bit higher. “For a long time I had no more motivation and energy for sport climbing. Now I am fully back again. I have managed to increase my top level in sport climbing, after having been concentrated on multi-pitch routes in big walls for 10 years.”
