“Europa, l`île Sauvage”
Nature and Environment (), Rémy Tezier (Frankreich/France) 52 min
Europa is an untouched island in the channel of Mozambique, to the west of Madagascar. This island is a true paradise for animals and the most preferred place for thousands of sea birds who have their breeding grounds there: frigate-birds and the boobies. They live together in peace which is a contrast to the precipitous shape of the island. Europa is, above all, one of the most important places of refuge worldwide for the rare sea turtles. The island offers a secure habitat for hundreds of this species at the beginning of summer, probably because this island has never been settled by humans.
