Alpine Documentation (), Gary R. Zieff 44 min
Miles out and hours overdue: Yosemite Search and Rescue is about the courageous men and women who make up the Yosemite Search and Rescue (YOSAR) team. The program focuses on several members of the team, following them in their day to day life during the summer. The film shows the rescuers in action; as "ground pounders" searching the back country for overdue hikers, rappelling in fourteen hundred feet to stranded climbers, or flying in a Lemoore Naval Station helicopter to a remote carry-out. By exploring this elite teamĀ“s varying beliefs and background the film shows how YOSAR draws from the vast spectrum of life experiences and ideals and creates a single-minded machine of rescue.
