“Giant Grizzly”
Nature and Environment (), Andreas Kieling (Deutschland/Germany) 52 min
The Grizzly bears of Alaska belong to the mightiest predators on land in the world. Such bears were last hunted in the 1930s. Nevertheless it is still rumoured that some giant bears can be found in remote areas. In 1997 there was finally clear proof: gold seekers found the skeleton of a bear of an almost incredible dimension. The examination revealed that this bear had died approximately 20 years earlier. Andreas Kieling, the famous nature filmmaker, wants to find out about the rumours concerning these giants. Together with an Alaskan Indian he undertakes a difficult and quite dangerous expedition through the remotest areas of Alaska.
