“…und täglich pfeift das Murmeltier”
Nature and Environment (), Andrea Rüthlein, Udo A. Zimmermann 29 min
Shortly after awakening from hibernation, the marmots continue to lead a harmonized social life, but soon after all hell has broken loose in the alpine pasture Büchsenalm. The stress reigns, however, not only within the group: marmots are a favourite prey of the golden eagle, eagle-owl and fox. Other predators too, such as lynx and bears, would like to taste those charming rodents. However, they first have to be caught. At least one of the marmot clan is always on guard and as soon as it whistles almost all of them disappear immediately into the next hole.
