The members of the Swiss expedition wait impatiently for Kari Kobler’s decision finally to attack the summit of Everest. Before they can begin, however, Kari has to solve some problems. The tent villages damaged by the storms have to be set up. And Kari also has to find out who has stolen the oxygen bottles during the storm. Then they receive the crucial weather forecast from Bern: the 21st of May should be their summit day. Now they are able set off! The members of the Swiss expedition hope to have good weather conditions on their summit day. But the situation would be quite different. Storms and icy cold reign at the altitudes of Everest. In addition, there is a jam on the mountain. The film shows spectacular pictures of the queues on the summit slopes of Everest. Kari Kobler, the expedition leader, has to make a decision: should they continue their ascent with a high risk or should they give up….?
