Nature and Environment (), Jürgen Eichinger 43 min
Tennengebirge –the name of this mountain range produces images of endless vertical rock faces, a large, karst high plane and caves! It counts among the mountain massifs with the highest number of caves in the Alps. This film portrays the land and people and considers aspects of mountaineering as well as of natural science and the cultural and economic characteristics of this area. The spectators are led to dizzy heights. They learn about traditional climbing methods and the camera follows the footsteps of the top climber Albert Precht. A highlight of this extensive documentary is the insight into the history of the discovery of the largest ice caves in the world, the “Eisriesenwelt”.
