“Plitvice – Land der fallenden Seen”
Nature and Environment (), Michael Schlamberger 50 min
Sixteen crystal clear lakes, arranged on spectacular terraces, connected by numerous waterfalls and rapids: the falling lakes of Plitvice in Croatia. Here, the limits between the elements seem to be extinguished – the falling lakes owe their existence to a fascinating biological phenomenon. Not only does one of the largest brown bear populations of Europe live in the surrounding beech forests, but also huge packs of wolves and a great number of lynx roam through the forests and around the cascades and lakes.
