“Greina”
Nature and Environment (), Villi Hermann (Schweiz) 28 min
The Greina Alp is a high plateau between Graubünden and Ticino in Switzerland, which due to its history is considered to be a symbol of resistance to the exploitation of untouched natural landscapes. The dairyman Giovanni Boggini from Aquila (Blenio Valley in the Southern part of Switzerland) drives his cattle up to the Greina pasture for a short time. After this stay, he is forced together with the local alpine cooperative to modernise their cheese dairy to European standards. No more wood fire, no more smoke on the alpine pasture. With the new resplendent equipment, the alpine cheese dairy resembles a chemistry laboratory.
