“Jean-Marc Boivin Extrem Dream”

Gilles Chappaz (Frankreich) - 52 min

Friday, 09. Nov. 2007 from 20:00 in Steiermarksaal

This "modern time adventurer" had a motto: "To live, you have to take chances!" He chose nature as his "field of battle”. In his quest for extremes and discoveries, Jean-Marc Boivin was mountain climber, skier, hang glider pilot, explorer, paraskier, sailor, speleologist and base jumper. He liked exploring the unknown places and tempting the limits of possibility. In the course of his fabulous career, Jean-Marc consented to recount his biggest moments to his father. Dad's tape recorder caught everything he said…his happiness, doubts, emotions and breath-taking escapes. Tragically, Jean-Marc Boivin died accidentally on the Salto del Angel in Venezuela in February, 1990.These recordings serve as the basis for the narrative of the documentary. Along with historic footage, the voice of Jean-Marc provides a remarkable insight into the character of this extraordinary man…who once said: "I have realized all my dreams."
