The Rondu canyon of the river Indus in the Pakistan province Baltistan, runs through a wild and extremely deep gorge between the highest peaks of the Karakoram mountains. Among kayak experts, this canyon is as infamous as the notorious 8,000 m peak Nanga Parbat among alpinists. Until today, the whole length of the canyon, which is 160 km, has never been navigated. We accompany the expedition „Taming the Lion II“ on their first ride on extremely difficult white water in the core of the Rondu canyon.
