This is a story about the pioneering ascent up the west face of K2 in the summer of 2007. The Russian national climbing team proved the world’s pioneers to complete the west face ascent of the planet’s northernmost mountain above 8,000 meters. Eleven climbers from the Russian expedition reached the top of K2 up its’ west face. The ascent was completed without bottled oxygen.
