At the age of 30, Marcel Bergman had a bad car accident in his holidays. Since then, he is wheelchair-bound. Now, 13 years later, he intends to undertake a journey which is an extreme strain for a wheelchair user in every sense. The glittering sky-scrapers of Shanghai, the Huan Shan mountain, the Chinese Wall… Marcel experiences a flush of foreign pictures and impressions. When he returns after four weeks, he is a changed person. He was a traveller in a foreign country which showed him a part of himself, which he thought already lost.
