It is rather dangerous to walk under palm trees in Sri Lanka. For there quite a lot of people die because of falling coconuts. Nevertheless, the coconut palm is called “tree of life” on this island. Why this is so, is explained in this film. Hardly any other plant can be used for so many different products. Numerous families and small companies make their living from the cultivation and the processing of this plant, as do the industry and the research.
