By the 1970ies, the beavers had virtually disappeared in huge parts of Europe. Then the first attempts to resettle the animals along the Danube near Vienna were undertaken. Starting from there, the offspring of these animals have conquered new living spaces: on the batters of the high ways, in sewers, parks. The zoologists explore their nightly activities and try to allay the farmers’ and forest owners’ fears of these tunnel building and tree felling animals.
