The south face of the Dachstein counts to the most powerful free standing climbing walls in the eastern Alps. One hundred years ago, in September 1909, the brothers Franz and Georg Steiner had discovered a direct route across this breathtaking wall to the summit: the Steiner Track, for the very first time. This complex film documents this Alpine heroic deed with impressive pictures. Two mountain guides from Ramsau climbed the Steiner route in clothing like in the year 1909, but also with modern climbing equipment. The spectators immerge into the spectacular glacier world of the Dachstein and into the nature paradise surrounding Ramsau, they witness exciting mountain rescue operations and set off on a time journey into the 17th century.
