The Nockberge are not a flat land but a three dimensional landscape. Even the real locals living on the Nockberge are astonished when they see their mountains for the first time in a new 3D technology. This new film about the National Park Nockberge is the very first true landscape and nature film in the whole world filmed entirely in 3D. It is not question of computer tricks and razzle-dazzle, but the true work of a film team who learned its skills already for the series “Universum” and still sticks to the old basic rules: mountains should not be filmed from the bottom, but from the summit. And: the best light comes with the rising sun. Sounds simple, but it is not. Because this formula also contains a cumbrous 3D-device, one of the five recording devices constructed especially for the Nockberge 3D film. In addition to the “classical” elements such as red deer or mountain farmers making their hay, also surprising or unknown aspects of nature in the Nockberge are put into the focus of attention.
