Every second six sharks die in the oceans of our planet. Every year, 200 millions of these animals are killed by men. The economic exploitation of sharks has caused the danger of extinction for 70 shark species. A sad balance – and still sharks have no friends. They are considered as bloodthirsty and malicious killer machines. Only a few nature protection organisations are committed to fight for the survival of the sharks. These animals are not suitable as emotional donation bringers. The German actor Hannes Jaennicke sets off to look for traces around the globe. He wants to find out the reasons for the bad image of sharks, and investigates the criminal activities of the fishing industries which seem to seal the fate of these fascinating animals.
