„Im Bann des Yukon (Teil 1): Von Whitehorse nach Dawson“

Klaus Scherer (Deutschland) - 45 min

Friday, 12. Nov. 2010 from 13:00 Congress Graz - Blauer Salon

The "Yukon Quest“ which leads from the Canadian Whitehorse to Fairbanks in Alaska, is considered to be the most difficult dog sleigh race of the world. With temperatures sometimes as low as – 50°C, the teams have to run 1600km across snow-covered forests and steep passes. William Kleedehn is starting as one of the favourites of this race. He emigrated from Germany to Canada, and already twice was ranked second. This time, he wants to make it to the top. His American friend and competitor, Hugh Neff, is also fighting to win. Numerous side stories complete this exciting event, such as visits to generous gold diggers and old trappers, and a research on how to build ice bridges across the Yukon.
