„Mit der Seilbahn in den Himmel“

Mit der Seilbahn in den Himmel

Andreas Pichler (Italien) - 52 min

Wednesday, 09. Nov. 2011 from 19:30 Schubert Saal 3

The farm of the Gufler family is located like an eagle’s nest, at an altitude of approximately 1700 metre, on a very steep slope at the end of the Passeier Valley in South Tyrol. Seven persons of three generations live there. Their farm can only be reached in summer by a very small foot trail, or throughout the year, by their own small 30 year-old cable car, as long as there is no strong wind blowing. Persons, cows, purchased goods, milk… everything has to be transported up and down by this cable car. Also in the future it will not be possible to build a road up there. The Gufler family has consciously and passionately decided to continue their life full of privations high up in the mountains.

Lobende Erwähnung 2011

Living on steep slopes, depending on a thin line. For mountaineers this would be an adventure, for a young farmer family this is daily life. An evocation of pride and happiness.
