Description
Female climbers and mountaineers, all from Catalonia but of different generations, offer us a glimpse of their fascination with mountains and talk about their personal struggles to realise their climbing dreams. This is a journey through the female history of mountaineering and climbing in Catalonia, guided by people who have broken barriers and overturned stereotypes; it is also a look at the role of women in sport and society, from the forties to the present day.

Minutes of the jury

The strength of this film lies in its original focus upon women climbers, and its contrast between the voices and experiences of the different generations. We especially like the revelation of a pioneering generation of female Spanish climbers who are given a voice by this film. This is enriched by celebratory archive footage which is set alongside the experience of high-achieving contemporary women climbers. It is refreshing to see the passion and commitment of the generations in this film.
