- Witness the story of a group of nomads living on the high plateaus of Ladakh, and in particular of the last months they spent together. At an altitude close to 4,500 metres, this is one of the highest inhabited areas on the planet. Each year sees more families selling off their herds, driven by the demands of the extreme climate and the harshness of the life. The nomadic lifestyle is being abandoned in ever greater numbers as people settle in the outskirts of the capital, Leh, where they become day labourers working for a pittance.
