Description
China, Himalayas. For more than 2000 years, the Mosuo people have been living in the mountains above the Lake Lugu, one of the biggest mountain lakes on the border to Tibet. The Mosuo are a community of approximately 35.000 people who have one thing in particular in common: women are in charge for the destiny of their families, they control the economic activities, and they hand down the property and their names to their daughters. Their system is running well: where women have the power to rule, all problems are discussed, there is almost no violence and the crime rate is negligible.
