- This film portrays five deep-rooted giants in their full magnificence. They are big and gorgeous examples, inimitable, monumental, unique. We can see, in fact we can observe and admire a spruce, the highest one of Europe, a huge beech, a very rare chestnut tree, a giant ash tree and the probably oldest Swiss stone pine in the world. Each of these tree giants has its own history and its distinctive physiognomy. They are true “characters”, which since centuries in the same place, have defied all weathers.
