- Description
- What if the Bavarian foothills of the Alps consisted of sand dunes? If on the alpine pastures camels grazed instead of cows? If men wore turbans instead of leather trousers and women wore veils instead of dirndls? Considered from a purely geological point of view, this idea doesn’t seem so absurd. Indeed, the Bavarian Alps exist only as a result of the gigantic collision between the African and Eurasian continental shelf, which lifted them up. With fascinating pictures, concrete examples and vivid interviews, this film reveals that Africa and Bavaria have more in common than the idyllic landscape and the alpine folklore might suggest.
