Description
Together with his horses and his dog Tigon, Tim Cope arrives in the Ukraine after a long journey full of privations. In the last 20 months he has travelled 4000km. His next goal is the Black Sea. After many months alone in the steppe, Tim returns to civilization – a shock. He can hardly find a place for the horses to graze and the local people stare at this odd stranger full of mistrust. Tim is almost about to give up, when he meets a group of Cossacks who offer to help. Although today they are settled farmers, they still have the priden of their past in them when they were mounted mercenaries and lived like nomads. Having just arrived in the Ukraine, Tim receives a shattering message. Back home in Australia, his father has had a bad car accident. Is this the end of the journey following the footsteps of Genghis Khan?

Minutes of the jury

This epic journey on horse in the footsteps of Genghis Khan was 3 years and 10.000 km in the making. This remarkable effort by a solo adventure filmmaker is sensitively edited to paint a portrait of the land of the nomads.
