Description
Exactly 25 years after the biggest nuclear accident of history, wolves are reigning over the contaminated radioactive no man’s land, the exclusion zone of Chernobyl, in the border triangle of the Ukraine, Russia and White Russia. Before the reactor disaster, hardly any wolves existed in the intensively utilized agricultural landscape on the banks of the Pripyat River. Meanwhile it is said that this is where the biggest and densest wolf population of Europe, maybe even of the world, live - as the German wolf expert Christoph Promberger declares with astonishment. Does men’s absence compensate for the radioactive contamination?
