Alpine Documentation “The Adventure Is Not Yet Over”

Alpine Documentation (), Richard Else (Gro) 39 min

Sir Chris Bonington is one of Britain’s most famous mountaineers – someone who for the last half century has dominated climbing not only in his native Britain but also in the Alps and Himalayas. At the age of 70, an age when most people have opted for a quiet life, Chris has no intention of hanging up his boots. Against the spectacular backdrop of Australia’s Blue Mountains and in the company of Leo Houlding – one of the world’s best new climbers and someone young enough to be his grandson – Chris talks about the good and bad times and proves he’s still no slouch on vertical rock.

Climbing together means to know and understand each other. On the mountain generational conflicts could entail a tragic ending. This film documents in a sensitive way that respect and esteem evinced by the older, more experienced climber for the younger rope partner does not necessarily have to become a one way street.
