In 2006, ten extreme mountaineers set off to climb the 8,084 metre high Broad Peak. They chose the route of the first ascent by Hermann Buhl. Although the equipment of today cannot be compared to the equipment of then, there are some parallels between the first ascent 50 years ago and the Broad Peak-expedition 2006. This film forms a bridge between “then” and “now”. It shows why men look into the eye of death in order to look onto the world.
