Exactly 100 years ago, the poacher Joseph Berard from the Aosta valley stole two ibex kids from the reservation of the Italian king and sold them in Switzerland. The Aosta valley then was the only area in the Alps where the ibex still existed. The Swiss people of Bünden, however, who bear the ibex on their coat of arms, had shot their last ibex already 250 years earlier. This film shows how they succeeded in reintroducing this majestic animal so that this year they can celebrate its 100th anniversary.
