Forensic anthropologist Eric Crubezy made a sensational discovery. Whilst excavating the permafrost of Yakutia, in eastern Siberia, he unearthed an ancient burial site containing a truly exceptional find: the body of a woman lying in a wooden coffin, surrounded by offerings. Her hair was pinned up, her eyes covered with earth, and her body clad in a loose bead-work coat with the sleeves sewn up at the ends as if to prevent her from using her hands. Who was she? Princess or shaman? Set up like a detective story, the film documents the scientific investigation into this mysterious woman's identity and reveals the true story of the Yakuts’ history.
