We Central Europeans obviously have a strange relationship with wild animals. We shoot the brown bear Bruno for fear, and then we admire it in the museum. The game warden Mario Theus is committed to make the coexistence of men and brown bears become possible. Mario travels to Slovenia, where 400 wild bears still live. He wants to learn the mystery of being accepted and he experiences cranky and nightmarish adventures. And his greatest wish, to encounter a European wild bear, will be fulfilled.
