- For us, Beaufort means nothing but a type of French cheese. This film shows in an empathetic way, with expressive pictures and a portion of good humour that this cheese is the product of a very particular way of living and culture. Since their childhood, Albert, Joannès and Bruno have been living in the primordial mountain landscape of the Haute Savoie Region, in the French Alps. They tell us their life stories as cheese maker, herdsmen and factory worker, and although they are almost 90 years old, they still climb up to the alpine huts in order to see how cheese is made nowadays. Even if now more machines are used, the work still remains subjected to the change of seasons and the harsh weather conditions in the mountains.
