- “The exploration trip to Papua has been my most difficult, fullest of privation, but also most fascinating journey. The strains were harder, the tribes were more hostile, the nourishment was more problematic, and my equipment, otherwise tried and tested, was insufficient.” Those words were written by Heinrich Harrer in his diary. 50 years later, a German expedition would follow his footsteps. Their goal is, as well as the legendary Jä-li-me, the source of the stone axes. In the dense mountain rain forest, the expedition has to fight against the same difficulties as had Heinrich Harrer. In addition to the extreme physical strains and the everlasting problems with the porters, they find themselves between the frontlines of a martial conflict between two tribes.
