- Description
- The famous director Arnold Franck used motifs that were extraordinary at the time for his film “Der weiße Rausch” on the Arlberg Mountain in Tyrol in 1930. Unlike his mountain dramas, the film “Der weiße Rausch” did not belong to the heroic genre. With its driving presentation of movement with some comedic elements, this film was an attempt to form a new visual language.A “language” which would be able to transfer the sensuality and emotion of skiing motions into a kind of action thriller. The original film was dramatically recreated and a new soundtrack was written by the Tyrolean composer Hans Platzgumer.
