- On October 2, 2002 Mark Newcomb, Carlos Buhler and Ace Kvale made the first ascent of the 22,821-foot Sepu Kangri, an enigmatic and notoriously difficult peak in the remote and once-forbidden Nyenchen Tanglha range of eastern Tibet. “Last Horizon” documents an expedition on the raw edge of the world where the earth meets “the jet stream”. As the team emerges from thin air and storm, so does insight into the risks and rewards, the fear and motivation, and sacrifice and triumph of high altitude climbing.
