- Description
- Surely it is due to their fear of light and their life in the darkness of night that makes bats appear so strange and frightening to mankind. They are, however, the only mammals that are able to fly and they are also perfect hunters in absolute darkness. They are able to find even the smallest millimetre-sized prey with the help of an echo-based locating system, and therefore are really extraordinary creatures. This film is a fascinating portrait of a species that has practically been ignored and unexplored but lives in close proximity to mankind.

Those who have seen „Jäger der Nacht“, a film made with extreme precision by Felix Heidinger, will soon forget about the legends of blood-sucking bats. Instead, they will get to know a fragile and shelter seeking animal that struggles for survival in the neighbourhood of man.
