Explorer Borge Ousland and skipper Torleif Thorleifson are in a hurry to sail around the North Pole, through the Northeast Passage and the Northwest Passage in one short Arctic summer. 100 years ago, Roald Amundsen traversed the Northeast Passage and the Northwest Passage, but he used many years on the 18000 km inhospitable waters, locked in the ice in winter. “If we are able to make the trip which was impossible just ten years ago, people will maybe understand how serious climate change is”, says Borge Ousland about the background for this expedition.
