Description
The eternal ice becomes ephemeral. Glaciers are melting away, more often than not, snow is falling only at high altitudes. The climate change causes a dilemma for many winter sport resorts: without snow – no income. Therefore the white glory is increasingly produced by artificial snow. Critics voice fear that this does not only damage the environment but also enhance the global warming because of the high energy consumption. In the mountain world resistance is developing. Men appear who want to protect the Alpine wilderness and to develop sustainable strategies of adaptation. However, their approach has to face contrary interests.
