- Description
- In 1997, the German mountaineer Robert Steiner could barely escape being killed in the north face of the Grandes Jorasses. However, after 14 years he comes back to the face to finish his climb. In this context the film presents the story of two other climbers who had almost fallen to their deaths in the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, but then came back to the mountain and were successful: Rudi Peters in 1934 and René Desmaison in 1971. Robert Steiner seems to have left his trauma already behind him, when all of a sudden, only five metres below the summit, a rock loosens under his feet and the story takes a dramatic turn.
