Description
Since the „Piolet d’Or“ exists as an award for extreme achievements in alpinism, there are also discussions, whether any awards should exist at all which distinguish a “best achievement”. After all, mountaineering with all its different challenges is an activity which has to deal with personal experiences and not a summit, at any cost. This film shows pictures of tours which were nominated for the “Piolet d’Or 2012”, and it combines these pictures, asking for the sense of such ascents. At the end it is clear, that every tour that is so difficult like the ones which are documented here, counts among the hardest undertakings in alpinism.
