- Walter Ladner has left his alpine hut in the upper Paznaun valley in Tyrol, he has put on his tour skis and sets off to find “his” Alpine ibex. He knows them quite well, since they were little, he knows where they look for food, where they bring up their kids, where the bucks fight for the nanny goats. He has climbed in his home mountains all life, ever since he was a little boy he had herded goats up there. The wild goats of the mountains, the ibex, have become his passion. Every now and then he climbs up the steep slopes to follow these fascinating animals. He admires their skill that they are able to survive at such an altitude, despite the cold, snow and ice. He is the ibex man. And his passion will become his destiny.
